Whole-Person Recovery for San Francisco Families

On Church Street in Noe Valley, NTH Rehab has spent 25 years treating addiction as a whole-person condition — mind, body, relationships, purpose — with the clinical rigor the Bay Area expects and the family-first ethos recovery requires.

About NTH Rehab

NTH Rehab opened its doors on Church Street in 2001, founded by a licensed clinician whose own recovery journey shaped the model: addiction is a whole-person condition, and treatment that ignores the body, the creative life, and the relationships around a patient produces fragile outcomes.

Twenty-five years and 13,500+ patients later, our 45-bed San Francisco facility and 96-person team still operate on that premise. Clinical work is paired with art therapy, music therapy, mindful movement, and structured family reconnection — because what gets a person back to themselves is rarely a single intervention.

Stories of Recovery

"My husband came home changed. Not the man I lost to the drinking — a different, more fully present version of the man I married twenty years ago. The family programming at NTH brought him back to us, and it brought me back to myself."

— Catherine D., spouse-gratitude arc

"For fifteen years I was treated for depression that never quite lifted and a drinking problem that never quite resolved. At NTH, in week two, a psychiatrist sat down with my whole history and said 'this is bipolar II.' That reframing — and the integrated dual diagnosis treatment that followed — changed my entire life."

— Anthony G., dual-diagnosis-discovery arc

"At 68, I thought I was too old for rehab. NTH was the first program that didn't treat my age as a problem. The art therapy and music room became my anchors. Three years sober. I paint almost every day now."

— Marguerite V., retired-senior-new-start arc
